Site Build and Administrate With Style
To make the Drupal 8 administration toolbar all that it can be and should be, there are two must have modules that need to be installed. These two essential Drupal 8 specific modules are:
Install them both. The toolbar themes module doesn't advertise its configuration link on the module/extend admin GUI page, but its configuration page is available at:
{site}/admin/config/toolbar-themes/settings
after installation. For best performance, check the toolbar tabs option after choosing a desired toolbar color scheme (currently black, white, or gray), with hopefully more color scheme customization features to come in future releases of the module.
Together these two modules approximate the previous state of the art Drupal administration GUI toolbar that was provided by the Drupal 7 admin menu module. For Drupal 7 installations, the admin menu module remains an essential backend support component.
This module was developed by Jeff Burnz. His efforts increase the enjoyment level of every visit to the Drupal administration GUI. Call it an enhanced "site building experience", (SBX).
